Organization!

Ahhhh... My husband is such a huge help! I really needed some shelves for all of my art supplies {my brushes & colored pencils haven't even found their way to the shelves yet}, and my hubby surprised me by putting these up! 

I'm loving my new storage space!

Valentine sweetness!

Mmmmmm, mmmmmm! We are cooking up a batch of Valentine goodness & sweetness! Three dozen cookies are for our church cookie swap, the other three dozen are going into beautiful, blue Ball jars ( after cooling ) for Valentine gifts~ yum!! I'll post a pic of the Ball jars as soon as my cookies cool! ;)

Hello Monday...

Hello Monday, hello Groundhog (who saw his shadow), hello snow day...

Sitting on my couch this morning, watching the snow fly, uploadoing photos (that I'm behind on), and wrapping some Valentine gifts.

Whipping up some Valentine gifts, during a snowstorm!

We got buried with snow, and my son loved every minute of it!!

I do love that he's an "outdoor kid" - just simply loves being outside. But, when he came in to thaw out, his second favorite thing to do is draw. We worked on these mugs for Valentine gifts...

What do you think? Grama, Nana, and Aunty (Michael's Godmom) are going to receive these with some teas! 

I love to give & create gifts- thank goodness my son does too!

Ringing in the new year...

Happy new year!!

These bags helped my son count down to midnight...each hour from 6pm-midnight, he got to open a bag, and find a prize inside.

The first bag had bottles of rootbeer(a splurge for him to have with dinner). The other bags contained things like modeling clay, sketching pencils, and 2015 glasses, to name a few.

Combining our talents!!

My husband and I love entertaining, decorating, & filling our home with love, family, & friends!

We opened our barn this past week to share our love of food & art with family and friends - what a fun, successful day!!

We had hand scrubs, note cards, canvases, beach rocks with quotes, scarves, baby blankets crocheted with love...

Refurbished furniture...

...and lots of soups&sauces to sample & go home with!!

We ate, drank, shopped, laughed, and hugged at the end of a wonderful day! It's so good to have friends to share your happy moments with - our barn is always open!

The MORE of Soups & Sauces has been busy...

Well, we've been busy being creative in this house!! {love it!}

First, I finished a painting that I was hired to do for a baby girl's nursery...it's being shipped to another state- so exciting!!

My husband whipped up a couple batches of his amazing, homemade Blueberry/Cinnamon & Peach/Ginger jam. All I can say is YUM!!

I finally sat down in my studio and painted the beach rocks that I've been collecting- great for paper weights, inspiration, doorstops, or simply decoration on a table top. {I have beach rocks everywhere!} They're packaged & ready for sale and gift giving!!

 

I finished up a few more small canvases - a couple friends have ordered them for gifts- thank you!!

Finally ~ I love that while I ws painting, my son was sketching next to me! Love him!!

It was a great weekend, full of creativity!!

Blueberry goodness...

It all began with picking fresh blueberries! From there, we washed them, mashed them, & cooked them up {my husband did the cooking part}, filled the jars, baked the jars and jam to seal them...

...and voila!! Homemade blueberry/cinnamon jam!! ~Soups,Sauces & More~

Art inspires art!!

We took a trip to our local art museum today ~ one of our summer bucket list items to do. We had a fabulous time checking out all the exhibits for a few hours, and then hit up an ice cream shop on our way home {yum}!!

When we got home, I just needed to paint!

Here's one of my creations. Then, I had a few other canvases that needed finishing touches, so they got finished as well...

Anyway, some are for sale, some are gifts. Can't wait to share them all with others!!

Another project...

Old windows- love them!! This one came out of our kitchen, and is being recycled!

I had a brainstorm, got out my sander {thanks to my good friend Alyssa, I asked for a sander for Christmas}, polyurethane, and paint...

First, I thought cream would do, then...I saw this blue-

And, voila... I created a memo board for the kitchen, pantry, wherever you think you need to jot notes or a quote!

How does your garden grow?!

Our garden is finally beginning to take off! I think our cool spring kept our plants from growing quickly, but the sunshine & heat this week is helping them along...

everything is coming along well- which means we'll be enjoying some delicious dinners straight from the garden ( cooked by my husband of course) very soon!

Summer....flowers in bloom, sprinklers on, reading a good book in the sun...

Flag Day...and my paints!

I thought Flag Day would be an appropriate day to add a flag to our fence.

I started off with my painter's tape, and then counted out my stripes- 13 beginning and ending with red...

Now, I just need to add the stars...not sure yet what I'm going to do or use. I'll post again when this project is truly complete!

We painted our rocks for the garden- love doing this! I painted the labels, my son painted the veggies~ I love projects we can do together!

Two Peas in a Pod shower...

My sister in laws baby shower was this past weekend - she & my brother are blessed with expecting a boy and a girl!

My mom and I were in charge of decorating...let the fun begin!! Our theme - two peas in a pod. The food was delicious (catered by my brother), desserts were to die for (Italian homemade cookies), and the hall was transformed with pink and blue tulle, ribbons, lights, and bows. 

Notice the little clothesline behind the arbor? One of my mom's adorable touches! Can't wait to meet these lucky little ones!!

I {heart}painting for others...

My little side job takes me to other people's homes, allows me to be creative, & makes me some extra $$.

The couple that I painted for yesterday, is expecting their 1st child in August ( oh, the excitement of a child)!! 

Here's the chevron wall that I painted- after much necessary measuring & taping it was successful! What do you think? 

Then, I painted a fun giraffe silhouette...

Now, they can focus on filling the room with furniture & welcome baby into the world!

Home party...

My husband is an amazing chef- if I do say so myself! We had fun tonight with a small group of close friends & family, shared drinks, laughter, and of course...fabulous food!

By the way, Loaded Baked Potato soup is to die for! 

We also had orange marmalade for sale, lemon/rosemary hand scrub, canvas quotes, & notecards. We have fun together selling things we are passionate about!
